GoDaddy is the world’s largest domain name registrar. If you have purchased your domain name from GoDaddy, you’ve taken the right decision. But when it comes to hosting the domain name, GoDaddy is not the best solution.
It’s better to go with a company which is famous for web hosting. HostGator is one of the most popular web hosting providers which has been in the hosting industry since 2002.
Yes, you can buy a domain name from GoDaddy and host it on HostGator. Here I’ll show you how to connect GoDaddy domain to HostGator hosting in just 3 steps.
Step 1: Find The HostGator Nameservers
Nameservers are the things that will point your domain name to the actual location of your website. As you are going to host your site on HostGator, you need to point your nameservers to the HostGator server.
I assume that you’ve already bought HostGator hosting. And if you haven’t, no worries.

Now login to your GoDaddy account. After logging to your account, you’ll be automatically redirected to the ‘Products’ page.
If you are not redirected, just click on your name from the higher right side corner and click on ‘My Products’.
Then scroll a bit. And you’ll find the ‘Domains’ section under ‘All Products & Services’. Simply click on the ‘Manage’ button beside the domain name that you want to connect with HostGator.
It will redirect you to the ‘Domain Manager’ page. Just scroll a bit and you’ll find “Managed DNS” under ‘Additional Settings’.
Then you’ll be redirected to ‘DNS Management’ page. Just scroll a bit and you’ll find the ‘Nameservers’ section.
